Horrific smell of garbage all the time. It's either the building's design or the property's management, but the smell of garbage leeches into 3/10 units on the floor constantly.

Even if you close the door to the chute (which is often left open by other tenants), the smell still leaches under the door and into your suite. Weather stripping your suite is a slight, but certainly not complete fix.

I checked 10 floors (5 up, and 5 down), and the smell exists on all levels; this is not a single floor issue.

The building staff has said that the chutes aren't cleaned in the winter due to the cold... which is an interesting choice, given that it's Canada and we have 5 months of winter a year. Their solution is to dump bleach down your chute... so now your suite smells like bleach and garbage. Great.
